Breastfeeding Services

As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), my goal is to provide the greatest support and assistance to you and your family on your individual feeding journey. Breastfeeding may be natural, but it isn't always easy. Let’s work together to make your experience amazing.

1:1 In-home Antenatal Education Session

The thought of breastfeeding and everything it entails can be overwhelming with information coming at you from every angle. Breastfeeding preparation can make all the difference in guiding you and your partner in what is to come and to help you focus on what you want on your breastfeeding journey.

Preparing to Breastfeed is created specifically for you and your needs and goals. It provides a thorough education of breastfeeding, what to expect in pregnancy, the early days with your newborn, and throughout your feeding journey.

Preparing to Breastfeed is provided in the comfort of your own home where you have the opportunity to ask any and all questions you have. The session will take approximately 4 hours and you may choose to complete the class in one day or space the class over a couple of weeks.

1:1 In-home Antenatal Lactation Consultation

Antenatal consultations are available whether you are having your first or fifth child. This consultation is ideal for families who have specific questions they want answered, complex medical conditions that may impact breastfeeding, or have a breastfeeding experience that didn't quite go to plan. A antenatal consultation is perfect to delve deep and leave you feeling confident and ready to breastfeed your baby when they arrive.

1:1 In-home Postnatal Lactation Consultation

Postnatal lactation consultations provide individualised support to help you with any feeding concerns you may have. Concerns may include but are not limited to: attachment difficulties, pain, damage or discomfort when feeding, oversupply of breastmilk, undersupply of breastmilk, tongue-tie concerns, unsettled infants, settling and sleep concerns.

An initial consultation will include a full assessment of yourself, your pregnancy and birth experience and your baby. A comprehensive plan will be developed with you to help you meet your individual feeding goals.

A subsequent consultation will reassess and evaluate any new or continuing concerns and ensure the wellbeing of yourself and your baby.

Initial and subsequent appointments usually last 2 hours and 1 hour respectively and include one week of unlimited text and email support.

Virtual consultations available.

All home visits include travel for up to 20km from postcode 4157. Travel outside this region will incur a travel charge of $1.50 per km each way.
