Midwifery Services
As a privately practicing midwife, my goal is to support you through every aspect of your pregnancy, labour and birth, and postpartum journey.
Midwifery Services
Why choose a private midwife?
Private midwifery care involves a known midwife providing all your pregnancy care from conception to six weeks after birth. As your dedicated midwife, Megan will be there to support you throughout your entire journey, whether you choose to give birth at home or in a hospital.
The advantage of having a single midwife throughout your pregnancy, labour and birth, and postpartum cannot be overstated. This continuity means that Megan becomes deeply familiar
with your personal health history, preferences, values and needs, just as you will become
comfortable and familiar with her. This established mutual understanding ensures that
you feel not only safe, but also supported in a way that perfectly aligns with your individual
needs.
Megan provides holistic, evidence-based care that is personalised to meet the needs of you and your family. All appointments can be in True Natal’s Capalaba Clinic or in the comfort of your own home whichever suits you best so you are able to spend more time together focusing on what really matters - you and your baby.
As an Endorsed Midwife, Megan is able to order ultrasounds, blood tests and prescribe medications as needed through your motherhood journey. She can also consult with and refer you to other care providers if required.
*Referral required from your GP or obstetrician.
Antenatal midwifery care
Pregnancy is an incredible experience. Your body, heart and mind are going through enormous changes as you grow and prepare to birth and support your baby.
Antenatal midwifery care with Megan includes all aspects of pregnancy care including ordering and interpreting investigations, monitoring the physical health of you and your growing baby, supporting your mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing throughout your pregnancy.
Antenatal care includes approximately 8-13 appointments through your pregnancy, as needed, and Megan is available for any concerns or questions that arise throughout your entire pregnancy.
Antenatal care is for all women. If you are experiencing a higher-risk pregnancy Megan is able to provide care for you through your pregnancy in conjunction with other specialised care providers.

Home birth or hospital birth support
Where you choose to give birth is a deeply personal decision and Megan is committed to supporting your choice, wherever feels right for you.
If you are considering a home birth, Megan ensures a safe and supportive environment to facilitate the birth of your baby in the comfort of your own home. This includes the presence of a second midwife for additional safety and the option of using a birth pool for comfort.
If you would like to have your baby in a hospital, Megan will be by your side offering the support and advocacy you need to have a positive birth experience. Megan will accompany you to your chosen hospital, providing continuous emotional and physical support throughout your labour and birth. And ensuring your birth plan is respected as much as possible and that you remain informed and in control of your birthing experience.
Whether at home or in a hospital, Megan's care is tailored to meet your individual needs and preferences, helping pave the way for a joyful beginning to life with your baby.
